How Back It™ Works

From Estimating to Installation

Estimating

Calculate the number of BACK IT needed.

Kitchen Wall — 10′ of wall at 16″ on center

10’ x 12 = 120” / 16” = 7.5

You would need 8 pieces BACK IT per 10’

Kitchen wall that is 10’ = 8 pieces x 3 rows (two upper and one lower) = 24 pieces of BACK IT

Towel Bars and Grab Bars

Determine the towel bar length — example 32”

32” / 16” = 2

Allow one extra for proper location because the studs do not always line up in the correct spot.

1 towel bar 32” = 3 pieces of BACK IT

NOTE:
Some contractors use 8” or 12” BACK IT for grab bars.

TP Dispensers, Coat Hooks, Towel Rings

Only one is needed for each in most instances; however, stud spacing may dictate that two are needed.

Audio Visual

Determine the mount size and fill area — usually two or four 6” BACK IT.

Order and Delivery of BACK IT
